Mosaic Mondays

Minimum two workshops - $25 per workshop. All materials included.

You can learn all the skills you need to make beautiful stained glass and tile mosaics. There are six workshops scheduled on Mondays starting March 24 from 4pm to 6pm. You only need to sign up for two workshops minimum to learn the skills and complete a project, but you're welcome to sign up for as many as you like. Ages 16 & up.

Participants will have several projects to choose from. Flowerpot, picture frame, hanging mirror, garden art, treasure boxes, and more. You will be provided the tools, adhesives and mosaic materials to complete beautiful mosaics. You can learn to cut your own glass tiles or use pre-cut glass shapes along with clay tiles, beads and adornments. You are welcome to bring your own special materials or doo-dads to include and personalize your project as well, but there will be plenty available

to choose from.

Wood Turning

We are honored to announce that Brian Greene has begun teaching his first-class! In this class, students are taught how to make a wooden bowl using a lathe. For more information, call or email the Monroe Art Arts Association or sign up for the above. These are very small classes. So, sign up at the arts center and the instructor will contact you to schedule a class.

Watercolor Painting

Learn the basics of watercolor painting with Jim Kavanagh and/or Kathy Heintz, both noted watercolor artists!

Wood Carving

This three course sequence will have you learning the basics of wood carving. You'll start with a block and end up with a little creature!

Felting

Have you ever wanted to learn how to needle felt? The Monroe Arts Association is excited to offer an afternoon needle felting workshop taught by Anne Marie Cole and Layle McCord. In this class you will learn how to make a bumblebee or a butterfly.

Tile Making

In this class, you'll learn the basics of shaping and decorating tiles to be fired.

Mixed Media Class

Learn how to integrate a variety of materials into one stunning masterpiece!

English Paper Piecing Hand Quilting

English Paper Piecing (Epp) is a hand quilting method that uses small pieces of fabric attached to a paper shape with glue or traditional thread basting. The papers allow the maker to use a variety of leftover fabric types, giving you a stable structure as you sew. As it is handwork, once prepared, the pieces can be stitched together in your free time.
